Dopo più di un anno dalla mia ultima gara ufficiale (Magacirce), dopo lo stravolgimento delle vite di tutti noi a causa del COVID, ricomincio a gareggiare col piede giusto, per scopi benefici!
Prendo al volo il treno della mia azienda RGI, questa mattina decidevo di accettare il loro invito ed abbracciare il team con l'obiettivo di raccogliere fondi per la ricerca e la cura del midollo spinale
Gli eventi di vita mi hanno fatto propendere per un obiettivo chilometrico all'insegna dell'umiltà, ho deciso quindi di tentare di raggiungere i 22 km complessivi prima di essere acciuffato dalla catcher car

Era il 7/3 quando postavo l'appena scoppiato arrivo del virus COVID 19 anche nella mia vita quotidiana, ignaro di quello che sarebbe stato il suo divenire ma nella speranza che sarebbe finito il prima possibile!

E' di oggi però la notizia che nella città di Beijing le prime persone hanno riniziato ad uscire di casa, dopo qualche giorno in cui non si sono registrati nuovi casi di infezioni locali, e questa notizia deve lasciarci la speranza che prima o poi tutto finirà e torneremo alla vita libera, seppur con un imponente insegnamento dei tanti come, cosa e perchè!

Alcuni sarebbero dovuti essere i punti da seguire per imparare dall'Asia quanto da loro messo in atto già parecchie settimane prima, brevemente:
prendere la cosa subito seriamente ed agire velocemente
fare test di positività in maniera estensiva ed a basso costo
tracciare quelli con sintomi ma anche quelli con cui hanno avuto contatti, gli asintomatici sono portatori del virus e la minaccia più seria
mantenere la distanza sufficiente per evitare il contagio e le opportune precauzioni personali nella vita sociale
tenere la gente ben informata e consapevole del fatto che quanto suggerito ha valore scientifico
gli atteggiamenti individuali sono la base da cui ripartire per uscire dalla pandemia
Sempre in questi giorni trovano spazio coloro che come sempre succede quando ci sono catastrofi o situazioni di emergenza, gridano al complotto! Io mi limito a prenderne atto e ragioanre con la mia testa, consapevole che la verità assoluta mai la sapremo ma che è sempre meglio prendere in considerazione tutte le possibili ipotesi!

In questo contesto surreale ma purtroppo invece verissimo, la vita va avanti in altro modo, con altri obiettivi/preoccupazioni.
In this surreal but unfortunately very true context, life goes on in another way, with other objectives / concerns.
Fortunatamente la mia azienda RGI è tra quelle che stanno usufruendo in maniera immediata dello smartworking, e devo dire che questo mi permette di starmene a casa al riparo dai più probabili contagi che ci sarebbero potuti essere con la vita da pendolare di tutti i giorni; mia moglie Ania è a casa perchè tra le prime misure prese dal Governo c'è stata la chiusura delle scuole e di conseguenza la sua azienda si è rimboccata le maniche ed ha iniziato a calarsi in questa nuova realtà, dove ogni maestra ha iniziato ad avere laboratori a distanza tramite Zoom, uno dei tanti strumenti di video conferenze: vederla a lavoro mi sta meglio facendo capire cosa significa essere un insegnante di Inglese in una scuola bilingue, ma soprattutto il carattere molto più umano rispetto chi come me lavora nel mondo dell'IT.
Fortunately, my company RGI is among those that are taking advantage of smartworking immediately, and I must say that this allows me to stay at home sheltered from the most probable contagions that could have been with everyday commuter life; my wife Ania is at home because among the first measures taken by the government there has been the closure of the nursery schools and consequently her company has rolled up her sleeves and started to fall into this new reality, where every teacher has started to having remote workshops through Zoom, one of the many video conferencing tools: seeing her at work is better making me understand what it means to be an English teacher in a bilingual school, but above all the much more human character than those like me who work in the world of 'IT.
E la corsa? E' di questi giorni una grossa polemica sui social per le misure prese dal governo che hanno via via stretto la cinghia alle attività all'aperto. Non voglio parlare della polemica e del tanto parlare di questi giorni, dico solo che il sottoscritto aveva deciso già l'11/3 che sarebbe stata l'ultima uscita per per andare a correre: un pò per reazione alla situazione che si stava delineando, un pò perchè fin da subito avvertivo la gravità di quello che stava accadendo ed il sempice uscire, il carattere di libertà della corsa lo trovavo inopportuno in quel contesto, allorchè ho iniziato a pensare ad altro. Mi son detto non esiste solo la corsa, e mi sono imposto di vedere questo periodo come un occasione per dare valore anche ad altro, sia fisicamente che mentalmente.
I told myself there is not only running, and I forced myself to see this period as an opportunity to give value to something else, both physically and mentally.
Onestamente ho ripreso a manutenere il tapis roulant sul balcone, ma a parte un paio di corse ho poi appurato esserci un problema nel mantenere costante la velocità, e con casuali accelerazioni ma anche improvviso termine di corse per low speed, almeno questo è quanto segnala il display, spero di riuscire a fixarlo quanto prima ma nel frattempo mai avrei creduto di poter correre sul balcone, come un matto! Però ci ho voluto provare un paio di volte ed alla fine nel tanto correre degli ultimi 15 anni rientrerà anche questa mia pazza esperienza: Honestly I started to maintain the treadmill on the balcony, but apart from a couple of runs I then found there was a problem in keeping the speed constant, and with random accelerations but also a sudden end of low speed runs, at least this is what the display, I hope to fix it as soon as possible but in the meantime I never thought I could run on the balcony, like crazy! But I wanted to try a couple of times and in the end in the long run of the last 15 years this crazy experience of mine will also fall:
Proprio perchè ho deciso di svoglere attività alternative, in questi giorni sto sfruttando la ferma volontà e costanza di Ania nel praticare fitness, seguendo le lezioni della sua istruttrice polacca e cercando di risvegliare muscoli che il tanto correre mi aveva fatto dimenticare di avere!!!
Just because I decided to do alternative activities, in these days I am taking advantage of Ania's firm will and perseverance in practicing fitness, following the lessons of her Polish instructor and trying to awaken muscles that the so much running had made me forget to have !!!
Auguro tutto il meglio a chiunque passa di qua, se come me stai vivendo in salute questa situazione, avremo, abbiamo la forza per affrontare gli eventi, qualunque essi siano, dobbiamo sempre ricordare le infinite realtà che esistono e che stanno affrontando con mille difficoltà questi stessi accadimenti!!!
